Check your local phone book or newspaper listings for opportunities for speed dating. You can sign up to participate and spend about an hour meeting and greeting potential future dates. You will rate the ones you like and if you match up with someone else, the dating service will let you know. This is a great activity to do with a friend over lunch and a great way to get started in the dating scene.
Dress is casual, but classy for speed dating. If you go into it with a fun attitude, you can make the most of your day. You might even meet a few people that you are interested in.
Online Dating Services
Services such as Date.com have millions of registered users who are looking for someone special. If you think online dating might be for you, simply choose an online dating site that you like, sign up and create an interesting, honest profile. You can browse through the profiles of others and even enter in information about what kind of person you are interested in meeting.
The most important thing to remember when filling out your online dating profile is honesty. If you are planning to meet and date other members, remember that any lies you tell on your profile will eventually be revealed.
Matchmaking Services
Matchmaking services cost more than speed dating or online dating services and are more tailored the individual. Matchmakers concentrate on personally getting to know their clients and hand picking the right person for them to date. A matchmaker might set you up with 3 or 4 different people and let you choose the one that you think you would like to get to know better.
Though they are costly, matchmakers often offer a guarantee that you will meet someone with whom you will form a relationship. Check into any guarantees that your matchmaking service offers and make sure you get your money's worth.
